Pavtube upgrade

Updated software

XAVC support:

For the first outstanding feature, many powerful camcorders can shoot under this XAVC mode, like Sony, Panasonic, JVC and Canon all have many series HD Camcorder which can such job.

Most XAVC codec will shot in MXF format, this may be good for importing quality ,but may be a big problem for their users. Although Sony has offered their XAVC plug-in to help customer to solve this problem, but many users still replay that they can’t do anything about their videos. How to tackle that? New Pavtube relevant Video converter software can handle this highest level video standard. XAVC can support 4K (4.96×2160 and 3840×2160), which just cater the trend of 4K.Add H.265/HEVC Decode and Encode:

All Pavtube Video Converter Ultimate products have added the H.265/HEVC decode/encode. You may very family about H.264/MPEG-4, but may not know about this H.265/HEVC. Actually, those two codec are said to double the date compression at the same level of video quality. This H.265 can be said as the Intro Time of 4K Generation. This H.265/HEVC is considered not only play a remarkable role on improving the image quality but also can support 4K resolution to UHDTV, the highest level can up to 8192×4320 (8k).

Like the hottest Samsung NX1 has already explore this brand new market. The 205-point phase-detection AF, 4K film resolution, H.265 compression coding, 15fps high-speed continuous shooting, etc., Samsung NX1 seems has already won the game.

But with this fast update of the H.265 camera, the related peripheral support software seems not get enjoy strength. Many media player and NELs still stick on the H.264, so how to get your H.265/HEVC video into compatible while quality maintained? The brand new Pavtube relevant Video software will be the best solution to deal with the H.265/HEVC. No quality drop, fast conversion, smooth playback, all you need is in this new Pavtube.

The Mac version is in full update, do please look forward to those brand new Pavtube relevant iMedia Converter for Mac!

iPhone 7 Rumors: Samsung Starts Manufacturing A9 Chip for Apple's Next iPhone

Samsung is already making components for Apple’s next-gen iPhone — currently unofficially called iPhone 6s or iPhone 7 — Korean site Electronic Times has learned. Read details in this news.

Manufacturing has begun for the chip that will power the iPhone 7, according to a new report.

Although the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus only recently came out, avid Apple fans are closely watching for updates on the iPhone 7, which is expected to be released in September 2015. A huge step has been taken toward that release with Samsung beginning production of the A9 chip, reported Korea’s Electronic Times.

iPhone 7 Rumors

The company is producing the next-generation chips at its plant in Austin, Texas.

The move signals Apple’s effort to move parts of production back to the United States.

Samsung was first reported to have received orders for the chips back in July. An executive confirmed in October that the chip-making division would see improved profits once it began supplying the chips to Apple.

Samsung has built custom chips for Apple since the launch of the first iPhone in 2007.

While production has started for the A9 chips, Forbes points out that mass production will likely not start until sometime next year. The A9 chip should be even more efficient and powerful than previous iPhone and iPad chips, and should be found on board next-year’s iPhone and iPad models. Pocket-lint says 14nm FinFET chips should consume 35% less energy while offering 20% more power than their predecessors. Furthermore, the chips should be 15% smaller than 20nm chips.

Apple is rumored to be releasing an iPhone model in the spring to go with its Apple Watch, but that’s expected to be the new version of the iPhone 6 and will probably not contain the A9 chips.

The current production of the chip is likely for prototype and beta builds for the iPhone 7, as part of extensive testing.

Among other effects of the chips, they are slated to enable faster and more efficient phones while using less battery power.

Here is more details.

With Plex Movie Trailers- Get Closer to The Cinema Experience

The cross-platform media server Plex supports movie trailers and extras now. Here shows you how to add local clips to your movie library for enjoyment.

Plex, the official app of the popular media server on most platforms, has just been updated with a couple of much-requested features, including movie trailers and extras, which can cover anything you'd usually find on a DVD or Blu-Ray disk, including interviews, deleted scenes and behind-the-scenes content. It brings functionality a lot of users have been waiting for.

Are you enjoying Plex Movie Trailers yet? Learn tips and tricks below to add and load local Extras to get closer To The Cinema Experience. Plex Pass users (Plex’ premium subscription service) can get more impressive features.

Trailers and Extras

Trailer and extras support is currently found in Plex Home Theater, the web app, Android and iOS applications. Other platforms should follow shortly. Local extras are detected by the media server and will be shown in the movie library by supported client applications.

plex web trailer

Plex Pass users get a very juicy bonus feature. When Plex adds a new movie to the library and is searching for metadata, high quality trailers and extras will automatically be pulled in from a third-party provider. This content remains in the Cloud, so Plex Pass users need not worry about incurring needless downloads.

plex pass extras

For avid cinema fans, Plex has added the ability to queue a number of cinema trailers when you start watching a new movie (it’s called Home Theater for a reason). To do this, Plex can pull trailers for the unwatched movies in the movie library. In addition, Plex Pass users can opt for trailers of upcoming Blu-Ray and theatre releases.

Getting Started

To get your trailer party started, you’ll need to make sure your Plex installations are up to date and properly configured.
Update Your Server & Client Applications

Both your Plex Media Server and Plex Home Theater installations will need to be up to date to process and access extras. Plex Home Theater may update automatically but, depending on your setup, Plex Media Server might not. Make sure you’re up to date in either case.

You can manually update Plex Home Theater by navigating to Preferences > System > Software Update in the application. To update Plex Media Server, just download the most recent installer from Plex Downloads and run the installation file.
Adding Local Extras

You can manually add trailers to your library that you’ve ripped from DVD or Blu-ray, or scraped from the Internet with Media Companion. For Plex Media Server to pick them up, the extras need to be added to the relevant movie’s folder in your library and follow Plex’ naming guidelines.

In a gist, this means that extras need to have a descriptive name suffixed with the type of extra. e.g.

Movie_Folder/Descriptive Name-ExtraType.ext

Currently, you can choose from six different ExtraType specifiers:

An example of a good name might be Avatar-trailer.mp4 or Theatrical Trailer II-trailer.mp4. The descriptive part of the name will determine how the content is shown in your Plex client.

plex extras naming scheme

If you’ve organised your library in a more hierarchical structure, with different subfolders for external subtitle files and metadata, you can also organise extra content with different subdirectories for each type of extra. Refer to the naming guidelines for more information.

plex update library

If you want Plex to spot these new files, make sure to update your library afterwards.
Automatically Load Extras (Plex Pass Feature)

Plex will automatically try to grab extras for Plex Pass users. This usually happens when Plex is processing movies that are newly added to your library. It’s important to note that these extras will not be downloaded to your computer; links to the extras are simply added to the movie metadata. In other words, if you’re a Plex Pass user, there’s really nothing to lose here!

plex settings freebase agent

To verify your media server configuration, open your Plex Media Server settings (you can also access these from the Plex/Web app if you’ve configured Plex for remote access) and browse to Agents > Movies. Make sure the Freebase agent is enabled in both the Freebase and The Movie Database tabs. It doesn’t need to be at the top of the list.

freebase settings

Open the preferences of the Freebase agent and make sure that the Find trailers and extras automatically option is enabled. Here you can also choose whether to download (more explicit) red band trailers and include extras with subtitles.

plex force refresh

You’ll probably also want to grab extras for the movies that are already in your library. To achieve this, you’ll need to do a Force Refresh of your movie library. This forces Plex to run all movies by the metadata agents again to check for new content, so this will take some time to complete.

Are movie trailers something you love, or try to avoid? Share your thoughts in the comments below!

How to Downgrade Mavericks to Mountain Lion

Are you wanting to downgrade Mac OS X 10.9 Mavericks to Mac OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion? The good news is that you can roll back your Mac to the operating system that was first installed on it in two ways. Keep on reading.

Apple has introduced a number of very positive changes in OS X Mavericks – and we generally advice that the majority of users would be best served updating to the latest version of OS X. This is particularly true considering that Mavericks has the same list of supported systems as OS X Mountain Lion, and is a free upgrade. However, not all users are thrilled with Mavericks, for whatever reason. As such, at least a certain segment of users have found that they want to downgrade from Mavericks back to Mountain Lion as a result.  Is it possible? How to get it done?

Method 1: Downgrade with Time Machine back up

Note: Before you get started, we strongly emphasize making a thorough backup through Time Machine of a good OS X Mountain Lion install immediately before your proceed. Not only is this Time Machine backup necessary to complete the downgrade, it will prevent or minimize your data loss.

Once you have your backup, you’ll need to boot your Mac into Recovery Mode by holding down Command + R while your system boots. Then, once the Recovery Volume boots, select the Restore from Time Machine Backup option. Make sure you have your OS X Mountain Lion Time Machine backup volume connected to your Mac.

Next, make sure you read and understand the “Restore Your System” screen, select your Mountain Lion Time Machine backup, and click continue. Now, just select a volume you’d like to restore the backup to, and choose Restore. OS X will now completely restore your Mac to Mountain Lion, based on the latest backup you have for that operating system.

Once the restore is complete, you’re good to go! Your Mac will then boot into OS X Mountain Lion, and will be ready for you to use.

Method 2: Downgrading by erasing disk and Internet recovery

Step 1: Get a copy of Mac OS X Mountain Lion

The first thing you need to do is get a copy of the Mountain Lion installation file. You may already have this if you’ve done an install before. Open the Applications folder and check for the Install Mac OS X Mountain Lion folder.

If you haven’t go this file, then you’ll need to go hunting for it. If you purchased it from Apple then you can open the App Store, and click on Purchases. Look for the Mountain Lion purchase and click on Download next to it. This will download the Installer file to your Applications folder.

If you haven’t purchased it you need to buy a copy from Apple. You can’t buy one from the App Store. Instead click on this link to buy a copy of Mountain Lion from Apple (for £14) You receive a code that you can enter into the App sTore to download the app.

Step 2: Download recovery Disk Assistant.

You can get a copy of Recovery Disk Assistant from Apple. Click here to get Recovery Disk Assistant (click Download). You’ll need this. Double click the Recovery Disk Assistant.dmg file in Downloads to continue.

Step 3: Create a recovery install disk

Now create a recovery drive. This is an external drive (usually a USB Flash drive) that you use to create a recovery disk. Follow these steps

Open Disk Utility (click on Go, Utilities and double-click Disk Utility)
Select the recovery drive in the sidebar and click on Erase
Ensure that the Format is Mac OS X Extended and click on Erase and Erase.
Click Partition and change Current to 1 Partain
Click options and select GUID Partition Table.
Make sure the format for the partition is Mac OS Extended (Journaled).
Click Apply.

Now open the Recovery Disk Assistant program. and click on Agree. Click and choose the external hard drive in the middle of the window and click Continue. Enter your password and click OK.

See: Apple Support: Erase and reinstall OS X

Step 4: Clone your hard drive

It’s important to make a clone of the whole hard drive and keep it around for a while. This can be useful in case of emergencies (you can boot from the hard drive) and you can re-clone it back to the main drive if there’s a problem. Also you can keep this around and pick files from it to copy over to the rolled back installation. The best way to do this is using a program like Carbon Copy Cloner or SuperDuper along with an external hard drive. Choose your main hard drive in the source, and your external hard drive in the Destination. Now click on Clone.

Step 5: Restart the Mac in Recovery Mode

First of all make sure you are connected to the Internet (open Safari and browse around). You need an internet connection to install Mac OS X. Restart the Mac by clicking on Apple > Restart and hold down the Command and R keys until the Recovery Mode Utilities window appears.

See: Apple Support: Mac OS X Recovery

Step 6: Erase the drive

Select Disk Utility and click on Continue. Now choose your Startup Disk in the sidebar on the left, and click on the Erase tab. If you want to securely erase the drive choose Security Zero Data One-Pass. Click Erase to delete the hard drive. Note that this permanently erases all data on the hard drive so don’t do this unless you’ve cloned the drive or are happy to never have to get something from that drive again. When Disk Utility has finished exit the program by choosing Disk Utility and Quit Disk Utility.

See: Apple Support: Disk Utility

Step 7: Reset and restore

Reset the Mac and hold down the Alt key and choose the Recovery USB drive. Install the OS X version that is provided with Internet Recovery, it depends upon what originally came on the machine (typically it will be either Lion or Mountain Lion). Note that if you have a Mac with an optical drive you can also use the installation disc to install direct to that operating system.

We hope you found this useful and that it works for you if you find yourself with the desire to downgrade! Enjoy!
